School Safety Monitor

Under the supervision of school administration, supports the maintenance of a secure educational environment by overseeing student conduct in hallways and on school grounds.

This position is intended for individuals who will retain their current job title while seeking a transfer to a different school location. This includes voluntary transfers, surplus staff, and employees from schools that are closing. Candidates wishing to transition into this role from another position may only be considered if there are no surplus employees requiring placement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Observe and monitor student behavior on school property.

2. Notify school security and administrative personnel of potential disturbances or incidents.

3. Assist during student arrivals and departures.

4. Supervise the cafeteria during lunch periods.

5. Patrol hallways during instructional hours.

6. Provide verbal and written reports as necessary.

Compensation

Maximum Salary: 18.50

Minimum Salary: 16.84

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must consent to the release of prior employment, credit history, and criminal background information.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must successfully complete a drug test, background check, and federal, state, and local fingerprinting.

• Ability to effectively communicate with students and school staff.

• Capability to interact positively with students and school personnel.

• Ability to respond to emergencies while maintaining professionalism and composure.

• Physical ability to navigate stairs, stand, and walk for extended periods.
