Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in administrative functions and oversee nursing personnel.
- Serve as a communication link between nursing units and the Director of Nursing.
- Facilitate meetings to address resident care concerns.
- Monitor nursing staff performance and recommend training as needed.
- Participate in budget preparation for the nursing department.
- Ensure compliance with meal service standards and monitor resident satisfaction.
- Conduct evaluations of nursing services to assess effectiveness and efficiency.
- Oversee chart audits and ensure accurate documentation.
- Lead the professional development of nursing staff.
- Represent the Director of Nursing in meetings and assume responsibility for nursing operations in their absence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid RN license in the state of employment; CPR certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of seven years in nursing, with at least two years in a supervisory role within a long-term care setting.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in motivating and directing nursing staff.
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
