Nursing Care Coordinator

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) coordinates and provides nursing care for residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as the LPN will supervise and guide clinical staff members to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:- Document resident conditions and nursing needs accurately and promptly.
- Implement physicians' orders effectively and efficiently.
- Assign nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff capabilities.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs.
- Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting treatment as required.
- Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
- Ensure supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely.
- Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
- Coordinate nursing care for residents scheduled for therapy or procedures.
- Interview applicants and recommend hires, participating in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff as needed.
- Supervise the nursing unit, scheduling and directing nursing staff as permitted by state practice act.
- Assure inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit, communicating needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
- Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed.
- Valid CPR certification.
- One year of experience in nursing preferred.
