Checkout Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
  • Actively seek out and greet customers to identify and understand their needs at checkout
  • Sincerely thank every customer for their business and invite them back to Lowe's
  • Build and maintain knowledge of the company's products and services
  • Proactively recommend appropriate products, credit programs, and protection plans related to Lowe's products during checkout
• Checkout Operations:
  • Use a cash register, assisted self-checkout registers, or mobile checkout unit to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
  • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise for customers
  • Respond to EAS alerts
• Store Maintenance:
  • Ensure merchandise is accurately scanned
  • Prepare register area throughout the day; by confirming functionality of registers and scanners and stocking register supplies
  • Fills and faces coolers, shelves, and merchandising areas around the front end
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages and place returned merchandise in the appropriate areas
• Team Collaboration:
  • Assist with Pick Up In Store customer experience by picking and staging merchandise
  • Enter and submit customer orders accurately, print order tickets, verify receipts, place online orders, and sign off on loading tickets
• Safety and Security:
  • Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection
  • Comply with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates

Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 year of experience standing and navigating throughout the checkout areas for extended periods of time in a retail store environment
• Less than 1 year of experience actively moving throughout a fast-paced self-checkout area, monitoring customer scanning of product, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
