About the Orthopedic Trauma Unit:
- Oversee patient care in our 32-bed Orthopedic and Trauma Unit, focusing on total hip and knee replacements, elective shoulder surgeries, and traumatic orthopedic injuries.
- Administer intravenous antibiotics for patients with joint infections and manage medical-surgical overflow cases.
- Employ telemetry monitoring to guarantee patient safety and optimal health outcomes.
- Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to formulate and execute comprehensive care strategies.
- Uphold high standards of nursing practice and comply with hospital regulations and protocols.

Nursing Support and Staffing:
- The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically maintained at 1:5-6 during day shifts and 1:6-7 during night shifts.

Qualifications:
- Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion within 5 years of hire. RNs with 10 or more years of experience are exempt.
- Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Required License/Certifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with NCBON.
- Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider.
- Preferred License/Certifications: National Certification in specialty area.
- Preferred Experience: One year of hospital nursing experience.
