Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Student Worker - Parks Aide at Secret Woods Nature Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of park maintenance and recreation program implementation activities at assigned facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain park and landscape areas to ensure they are presentable, clean, and safe for visitors.
  • Clean offices, break rooms, restrooms, recreation centers, pavilions, tables, and chairs to provide a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Interact with the public and other County employees to provide directions, information, and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
  • Inspect park facilities to ensure a safe work and recreation environment for employees and the public.
  • Perform facility maintenance work to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
  • Set up and take down temporary facilities for meetings and special events.
  • Pick up and deliver items to appropriate locations to ensure supplies and materials are available where needed.
Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in a state-licensed school, college, or university and at least 16 years of age.
  • Must demonstrate student status for the duration of the appointment.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diverse experience in cash handling, office support, and general/janitorial maintenance.
