As a Medical Assistant at GraceMed Health Clinic, Inc., you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care services. This dynamic position requires a skilled and compassionate individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced medical office setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares patients for examination, treatments, and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
• Obtains vital signs and chief complaints, utilizing strong communication skills to gather accurate information.
• Reviews family history and maintains accurate records, demonstrating attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Assists providers during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
• Administers medications and injections as ordered, adhering to competency training and protocols.
• Maintains a clean and organized environment, ensuring exam rooms are stocked and equipped for patient care.
• Performs phlebotomy and CLIA waived lab tests, following established procedures and protocols.
• Documents patient information and lab results, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Provides patient education and support, addressing concerns and promoting health awareness.
• Coordinates referrals and schedules appointments, ensuring seamless communication with patients and providers.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum one-year direct experience in a medical assistant role required for candidates with no formal MA education; previous patient care experience preferred for candidates with formal MA education.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire; previous computer experience or training in the medical field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing procedures and protocols.
Work Environment:
• Medical office setting with a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods, with occasional bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50lbs).
• Interaction with physicians, patients, and other office personnel, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Potential exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous substances, and other medical risks.
• Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with computer systems and equipment.
• Must have auditory acuity to handle phone calls and communicate effectively with patients and providers.
