As a Licensed Practical Nurse on our Med/Surg Unit, you will work under the direction of a registered nurse or physician to provide basic bedside care to patients of all ages. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing skills, including medication administration, patient assessment, and education. If you are a motivated and compassionate nurse looking to make a difference in the lives of our patients, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Collect and analyze patient data to contribute to the assessment process
Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions
Provide education and support to patients and their families
Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees and share knowledge and experiences
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and files
Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and follow Code Blue protocol as outlined by JCAHO

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
Current Ohio License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department

Work Experience:

Three months on the job training to become familiar with policies, procedures, equipment, and techniques
One year of related nursing experience for PRN internal candidates, two years for external candidates

Physical Requirements:

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination
Extensive standing and walking required
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
