We are collaborating with a manufacturing firm in the Fountain Inn region to recruit a full-time Tooling Engineer.
Key Responsibilities- Employ analytical problem-solving techniques.
- Comprehend injection molding processes, evaluate molded part feasibility, and oversee tool design/build.
- Possess experience with injection molding machinery, robotics, and auxiliary systems. Demonstrate proven mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with various injection molding tool technologies, including RPT, Aluminum, P-20, mold max, cooling and turbulent flow, tool shot, and in-mold formed laminates.
- Oversee the molded part feasibility process, engaging in product design reviews throughout the design lifecycle, including final design approval.
- Analyze and interpret mold flow simulation data during the design process.
- Address and resolve feasibility challenges, including GD&T and SC and CC requirements, and support flag meetings as necessary.
- Review and authorize all plastic part designs.
- Ensure the appropriate tooling design is created for each part.
- Participate in tooling design reviews, integrating necessary plant functions and connectors.
- Verify compliance with company tooling standards.
- Authorize all injection mold tool designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with all tooling.
- Implement repairs, modifications, and engineering changes.
- Develop and execute corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain plant safety and housekeeping standards.
Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered for certain roles.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Mold Design and within the automotive sector.
