Role Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in managing Patient Access operations, which encompass facility-based scheduling, pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance under the guidance of the Supervisor and Revenue Cycle Director.
Key Duties Include:
1. Verifying and ensuring that essential ADT information (such as insurance verification and patient demographics) is accurate and up-to-date to promote patient safety and billing precision.
2. Completing and documenting all necessary governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in accordance with established procedures, ensuring that all documents are properly scanned and stored.
3. Utilizing pricing estimation tools during the registration process to provide patients with accurate cost estimates.
4. Achieving departmental targets for upfront collections, including deposits, estimated amounts due, co-pays, and prior balances.
5. Actively engaging in departmental quality assurance by utilizing system work queues to minimize errors and correct any discrepancies as needed.
Additional Information:
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Arts/Business is preferred.
3. Completion of EPIC Cadence and Prelude training is mandatory, along with passing the associated examination.
4. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, is essential.
5. Strong customer service skills and effective written and verbal communication abilities are necessary.
6. Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
7. The position requires working every other weekend, three out of six holidays, and flexible scheduling based on departmental needs.
