About the Role

This Senior Technical Accountant will report to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. The role involves researching complex accounting matters, preparing technical accounting whitepapers, developing and maintaining accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, and implementing accounting standards alterations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and prepare technical accounting whitepapers on topics like business combinations, stock compensation, derivatives, leases, and revenue recognition.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies with a focus on standardization and simplification.
  • Support entity and segment-level accountants with unique transactions.
  • Stay up-to-date on US GAAP and SEC reporting changes and implement new accounting standards updates and SEC regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC, US GAAP, and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
  • Prepare and present potential solutions and alternative accounting approaches in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Develop expertise in accounting and contribute to process improvements.
  • Participate in documenting required disclosures for quarterly and annual filings.
  • Evaluate business situations, identify key accounting issues, and select appropriate solutions.
  • Present critical information to other departments, management, and external auditors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA, or MBA.
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience or equivalent public accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with quarterly and annual SEC reports.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting or implementing complex accounting standards.
