Job Summary:

The Maintenance Lead is a critical role within our facilities team at ADM, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance activities. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute maintenance plans according to the work schedule, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Prioritize shift work, assigning resources to effectively utilize their experience, training, and ability.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, demonstrating safety leadership through participation in all safety processes with a goal of Zero injuries.
  • Recognize environmental, safety, and GMP hazards and take actions to eliminate them, ensuring they do not affect employee safety, product quality, and environmental purity.
  • Address employee concerns and maintain good communications and morale on shift and within the department.
  • Work with employees to develop a high level of job proficiency, analyzing maintenance performance and working to improve efficiencies.
  • Provide positive reinforcement when employees are observed producing good results and safe performance.
  • Maintain discipline within the department and document unusual or unacceptable behaviors.
  • Responsible for the development of maintenance employees, proactively engaging in their development and training.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Collaborate with other facility management to utilize equipment to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Remain current with the latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
  • Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed in the execution of daily maintenance activities.
  • Manage and analyze preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Keep the Plant Manager informed and coordinate with the Plant Superintendent concerning the execution of maintenance and repair work schedules.

Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum as a mechanic or other technical tradesman.
  • 2-3 years experience leading a team.
  • Troubleshooting experience.
  • Able to read technical manuals/blueprints.
  • Understanding of GMPs.
  • Good people skills.
  • Mechanical, electrical, pipefitting, rigging.
  • Job Hazard Analysis and safety compliance.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft office, email, etc.).
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills.
  • Report writing.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends, holidays to support 24/7 operation.
