Engineering Project Coordinator

We offer an attractive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, to support our growth strategy.
Job Description: We seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, VA. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for coordinating interdisciplinary functions, performing technical liaison, and supporting repair and installation teams to resolve technical issues. The successful candidate will oversee the efficient and timely accomplishment of engineering tasks and functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) for U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) components.
- Perform shipchecks, prepare system specifications, and develop design drawings for new installation and modification of existing HM&E systems and components.
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot HM&E systems using various Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs).
- Develop 2D drawings and 3D models of electrical diagrams, new and modified mechanical components, and equipment foundations.
- Perform calculations, including fluid resistance of piping systems, stress analysis of mechanical components and foundations, weight and center of gravity, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Security Clearance or ability to obtain one required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) shipboard systems, design, and testing requirements.
