**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in design analysis, calculations, and project management.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and develop layouts, construction drawings, and specifications for facility mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, utilities, fuel handling, and industrial ventilation.
  • Provide technical reviews of facilities construction drawings and specifications for mechanical adequacy, compliance with functional requirements, and conformity with standard engineering and construction practices.
  • Perform engineering services in support of Architectural and Engineering Contracts, including writing statements of work, estimating fees, negotiation, performance monitoring, and evaluation of bids.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued from the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

**Work Environment:**
