Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with medical procedures, including bone marrow aspirations, fine needle aspirations, and pelvic exams.

• Perform laboratory testing, including phlebotomy, blood draws, and quality control procedures.

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient testing and treatment.

• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation and send outside labs to appropriate facilities as dictated by patient insurance plans.

• Maintain test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists according to regulatory agencies.

• Assist in training new employees and follow established safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness of the laboratory and equipment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications and licenses as required by state where employed.

• One year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician's office with ability to perform venipuncture.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; EMR experience a plus.
