Job Summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a skilled Apprentice/ Journeyman Lineman to join our team at the Hayward Service Center in Hayward, WI. As a lineman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and removing overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment. This role requires climbing poles, working on energized conductors and equipment, and performing hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and remove overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment
  • Climb poles and work on energized conductors and equipment
  • Perform hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors
  • Work in inclement weather and be available for callout work
  • Participate in after-hour emergency callouts
  • Meet driver qualification requirements and possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Technical School Lineman degree is preferred
  • Must presently be qualified to be an Advanced Step/Journeyman Lineman
  • Must have good communication and teamwork skills
  • Must reside within 20 miles of the service center within 6 months of hire
