Quality Inspector Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform inspection activities to assess product conformance to design specifications
  2. Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and quality specifications to determine quality and reliability standards
  3. Inspect products, components, and systems to ensure conformance to requirements
  4. Identify nonconforming conditions and record variable data of inspections
  5. Prepare inspection plans and checklists, and assist with discrepancy notices and material movement transactions
  6. Assist in gauge calibration and daily, weekly, and monthly testing of products
  7. Conduct first article inspections and monthly process audits
  8. Adhere to quality and safety standards and support other projects as assigned
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of two-five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics
  • Experience with inspection equipment, including calipers, and knowledge of manufacturing ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • GD&T proficiency is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in standard business software packages, including Microsoft Office
