Job Overview

The Tile Shop Distribution Center is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our Shipping team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient picking, packing, and dispatching of materials, tools, and products to our stores and customers, while upholding a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shift Hours: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, Monday - Friday
  • Utilize wireless RF devices or desktop computers for all bar code operations, including receiving orders, printing labels, and conducting inventory transactions.
  • Efficiently load and unload delivery trucks.
  • Process incoming shipments promptly and accurately.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure product standards are met.
  • Accurately label items and pallets.
  • Document quantities of materials received or distributed.
  • Complete necessary paperwork with precision.
  • Transport materials from receiving or production areas to designated storage locations.
  • Lift, move, and organize materials on racks, shelves, or pallets.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records consistently.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks safely and effectively.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
  • Keep the workspace clean, safe, and organized, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Participate in inventory counting as required.
  • Assist in other departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification or willingness to be certified in forklift, reach truck, and order picker operation.
  • Basic skills in organization, mathematics, and computer usage.
  • Understanding of safety protocols.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move 50 lbs, with occasional lifting of over 100 lbs.
  • Capability to work at various heights.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed.
