Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool Fabrication Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Co Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for manufacturing, reworking, and maintaining tooling to support our aircraft production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture, rework, and maintain tooling to meet production requirements
  • Read and interpret tool designs and participate in proposed new tooling concepts
  • Perform machining, assembly, and modification of tools to meet 2D and 3D requirements
  • Interact with internal customers and recommend solutions to tooling problems
  • Operate required machinery and equipment, following established safety rules and procedures
  • Complete special assignments and simple repairs as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, supporting our 5S program
  • Mentor less experienced team members within the Tooling group
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or higher in a technical field preferred
  • 3 years of mechanical and/or tool fabrication experience
  • 3 years of CNC programming experience from 2D prints and CAD models
  • AWS D1.1 and/or D1.2 Weld Certification (Steel and Aluminum) or aptitude to pass certification a plus
  • Hands-on experience with machine tools required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with tooling for commercial and general aviation aircraft
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with 3D models interpretation
  • Ability to interpret GD&T drawing language
  • Ability to use simple arithmetic and measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and PowerPoint) strongly preferred
  • Intermediate working knowledge of SAP and Teamcenter Manufacturing beginner level
Physical Requirements
  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements
