Are you an adept problem solver with a passion for information technology (IT)? The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania offers a remarkable opportunity for a dedicated Information Technology Technician within the Services and Support Division.

This role is integral to providing internal customer assistance as part of the Help Desk Team, supporting an organization that generates significant revenue through its retail operations.


The Help Desk serves as the primary contact point for service and support related to hardware, software, and procedural Point of Sale (POS) challenges, along with all IT-related inquiries.

This position entails delivering Call Center Support based on established workflows and addressing common technical issues. Enhance your IT career by exploring this opportunity.

WORK DESCRIPTION


The Help Desk caters to a diverse client base, encompassing over 2,000 personal computers equipped with various software, more than 1,200 POS systems with associated inventory management applications, network printers, and networking devices.

You will collaborate within a team framework in Information Technology Services (ITS) and work closely with other divisions and departmental offices to ensure compliance with procedural standards.


This is a first-level technical support role that provides assistance based on established troubleshooting protocols and common resolution strategies.

Your responsibilities will also include handling inquiries from the public and retail locations, documenting all client interactions for efficient tracking from initial contact to resolution, and escalating issues to higher support levels when necessary.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Full-time employment with a schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.

TELEWORK:

There may be an opportunity for full-time telework, requiring in-office attendance four days per month, depending on operational needs.

To qualify for telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location within Pennsylvania.

If teleworking is not feasible, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum experience and training requirements include: One year of experience as an IT Help Desk Technician; or an associate degree in an IT-related field; or two years of experience in IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance; or one year of experience in IT support services combined with completion of a one-year apprenticeship in the IT technical support field; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
