Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at AFC Urgent Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients effectively and accurately, ensuring seamless communication with our healthcare team.
  • Verify insurances and collect copays, coinsurance, and other payments as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and stocked work environment, adhering to our high standards of quality and patient satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
  • Accurately maintain patient information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform various clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, injections, wound care, EKGs, vital signs, and specimen collections.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, following approved nursing techniques and protocols.
  • Document patient information, lab results, and other relevant data in our electronic medical records system.
  • Collaborate with our healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care, adhering to our high standards of quality and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in urgent care or a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
