Job Summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Geospatial Expert to join our team. As a Utility Locator Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe excavation and installation of utilities.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately locate underground utility lines using maps, records, and other resources.
  • Operate subsurface utility engineering field equipment, including ground-penetrating radar and electromagnetic designating equipment.
  • Collaborate with construction crews and contractors to ensure safe excavation and installation practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of utility locations and updates.

Requirements:

  • High School/GED or equivalent preferred, specialized training from a vo-tech school.
  • Entry-level experience as a utility locator or SUE Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and ability to interpret maps and records.
  • Familiarity with utility locating equipment, such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar.
