Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavior Specialist to join our team at International Leadership of Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultation, training, and modeling to teachers, staff, and parents to address and manage children with challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and develop behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and provide support in implementing BIPs and classroom management strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes as needed.
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments.
  • Work with school staff and parents to teach socially acceptable behaviors to students based on individual needs.
  • Participate in admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meetings and work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other staff members to ensure success in meeting individual educational plan (IEP) goals.
  • Manage student behavior and administer discipline, including intervening in crisis situations and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university required.
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited university preferred.
  • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) preferred.
  • BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a special education teacher.
Working Conditions

The Behavior Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to maintain emotional control under stress. The position may require prolonged or irregular hours.
