About the Role

As a Functional Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive assessments for the Government's disability allowance (PIP). You will work closely with claimants to understand their health conditions and disabilities, and provide personalized, inclusive, and empathetic support throughout the assessment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver face-to-face and virtual assessments, telephone assessments, initial review calls, and paper-based reports (PBR)
  • Manage caseloads from end to end, including requesting and reviewing further evidence and team meetings
  • Assess a wide range of health conditions and disabilities, including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual, and cognitive impairments
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high-quality service
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Paramedic
  • 1+ years post-qualification experience
  • Valid registration on NMC or HCPC without restrictions
  • Excellent communication skills and strong IT literacy
What We Offer

As a Functional Specialist with Donard Recruitment, you can expect:

  • A competitive basic salary of £38,500 - £41,500
  • A 5% retention bonus, rising to 10% quality and retention bonus
  • OTE: £45,650
  • Hybrid full-time and part-time working hours available
  • Training options: 12 weeks (full-time), 14 weeks (4 days per week), and 17 weeks (3 days per week)
