Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Permanent Maintenance Mechanic to become a vital part of our Engineering team.

The successful candidate will focus on the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of our advanced conveyor systems, production machinery, and fillers.

This role offers an exciting chance to leverage your mechanical skills in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

As a Permanent Maintenance Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine and preventive maintenance on conveyor systems, production machinery, and fillers to ensure peak performance and reduce downtime.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues promptly and accurately, utilizing your comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems and components such as bearings, sprockets, and gears.
  • Repairing or replacing defective equipment parts, adhering to lockout-tagout (LOTO) protocols to ensure safety.
  • Complying with all industrial safety standards and regulations, while actively contributing to a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Collaborating closely with the engineering team and other departments to identify potential mechanical problems, propose solutions, and implement enhancements.
  • Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities, including parts replaced and the nature of repairs or adjustments made.
  • Continuously updating your knowledge of our machinery, equipment, and systems, as well as relevant safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Maintenance Mechanic position will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, with hands-on experience working with bearings, sprockets, and gears.
  • Expertise in preventive maintenance and machine repair.
  • A solid understanding of industrial safety standards and regulations, including knowledge of LOTO procedures.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • A high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy equipment parts.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
