Emory University Investment Accounting Role

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Accountant to join its Emory Investment Management Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the endowment's accounting and operations functions, including investment accounting, audit and reporting, data repository monitoring, and internal and external reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and document transactional activities, including daily cash flow review and accounting and performance reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial schedules, research and resolve accounting issues, and monitor outstanding commitments and fees.
  • Track and process expenses, fee payments, and monthly accruals, and assist with the preparation of various audit workpapers, audit memos, and position papers.
  • Assist in the annual audit process, including processing of audit confirms, and work directly with external auditors as necessary.
  • Complete periodic endowment surveys and assist with internal and external reporting needs, including Investment Committee Report preparation and review.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, and one year of related work experience.
  • Three years of experience is preferred, and a CPA is required.
  • Previous audit experience is preferred, and a high level of professional maturity, integrity, judgment, and discretion is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple complex tasks with a focus on detail, accuracy, and timeliness are essential.
  • Team-oriented and comfortable working in a small office environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
