Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Accountant to join our Emory Investment Management Operations team. The successful candidate will have responsibilities associated with investment accounting, audit and reporting, data repository monitoring, internal and external reporting, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and document transactional activities, including daily cash flow review.
  • Perform accounting and performance reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial schedules, research and resolve accounting issues.
  • Monitor outstanding commitments and fees.
  • Track and process expenses, fee payments, and monthly accruals.
  • Assist with the preparation of various audit workpapers, audit memos, and position papers.
  • Assist in the annual audit process, including processing of audit confirms, and work directly with external auditors as necessary.
  • Complete periodic endowment surveys.
  • Assist with internal and external reporting needs, including Investment Committee Report preparation and review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, and one year of related work experience.
  • Three years of experience is preferred.
  • A CPA is required.
  • Previous audit experience preferred; high level of professional maturity, integrity, judgment, and discretion required; strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple complex tasks with a focus on detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Team-oriented and comfortable working in a small office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
