About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Safety and Assurance Professional to join our team at ManTech. In this role, you will provide Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) support to programs under Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Manager Ground Weapons Systems (PM GWS) out of Quantico, VA.

This is a challenging opportunity for someone with experience in system safety and assurance. You will be responsible for ensuring that material solutions developed or acquired by MCSC and PM GWS meet strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Government customer in ensuring that material solutions developed or acquired by MCSC and PM GWS are system engineered, integrated, interoperable, and certified to provide the warfighter with equipment required to accomplish their mission.
  • Examine and evaluate organizational safety program management based on knowledge of Marine Corps, OSHA, State, DoD, and other Federal Safety Standards as they relate to the installation's safety program.
  • Identify and characterize hazards to establish Risk Assessment Codes.
  • Provide ESOH recommendations for acquisition areas of responsibility (e.g., hazard tracking systems, risk acceptances, safety releases, battery data packages, National Environmental Policy Act decision memorandums, etc.), and verify that DoD programs adhere to regulations and best practices such as DoDI 5000.02 and MIL-STD-882E.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with all applicable safety requirements during an investigation pertaining to law, regulations, orders, policies, and procedures.
  • Investigate mishap, property damage and near miss incidents to engage in the series of events and gain an understanding of the causes to advance towards the effective actions to mitigate or eradicate the hazards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of system safety experience. (Additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.)
  • At least 2 years of experience with DoDI 5000.02 and MIL-STD 882E safety guidance and best practices

$83,000 - $118,000 per year
