About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Specialist to join our team in supporting the FBI's cross domain system (CDS). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Operations & Maintenance support on existing CDS systems, ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive law enforcement and intelligence data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage systems in a VMWare environment, including deployment, integration, and troubleshooting of new technologies and services.
  • Install and configure COTS/GOTS and custom software, firmware updates, operating system patches of CDS guards, and antivirus software updates.
  • Monitor systems for potential problems and resolve issues by analyzing root causes, implementing solutions, and working with vendors as needed.
  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets within required response times, providing immediate support to critical system incidents.
  • Run scripts to gather production system metrics and statistics, helping to inform business decisions and improve system performance.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, ensuring secure access to systems and data.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with 8-12 years of relevant experience in IT system administration.
  • Proven expertise in Linux system administration, particularly in large complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience in network administration, installation of networking appliances, cabling, and cable termination in large enterprise IT environments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and follow written instructions or technical guides.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with ability to quickly adapt to new system environments and interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in testing complex IT systems and integrating new capabilities.
  • Expertise in Virtual Environment administration, including installation, configuration, and management of Type 1 hypervisors and VM Management environments.
  • Proficiency in installing, hardening, patching, backup, and restore of Linux systems.
  • Experience with system hardening, Apache Nifi, and small-scale development of script-level routines.
Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 per year, based on location and industry standards.
