Seeking a Medical Director for a Thriving Veterinary Practice in Huntington Beach

Hamilton Animal Hospital, a well-established general practice veterinary clinic in Huntington Beach, California, is seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to lead our team. As a Medical Director, you will oversee all medical aspects of our hospital, driving innovation and growth while upholding our high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all medical aspects of the hospital, ensuring high-quality care and best clinical practices
  • Foster a positive and healthy hospital culture, guiding the team through active feedback and managed accountability
  • Support excellence in client experience, working with DVMs and Hospital Manager to address issues and promote training as needed
  • Provide guidance to Associate DVMs and clinical staff on clinical outcomes and best practices
  • Manage DVM schedules and recruitment needs in coordination with the Hospital Manager and Operations
  • Participate in operational and financial calls to address hospital issues, identify growth opportunities, and support responsible hospital management and investment decisions

Requirements:

  • Valid and in good standing licensed veterinarian within the state of California
  • Requisite clinical privileges and DEA license
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience
  • Prior Medical Director experience, preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and sound medical judgment
  • Ability and desire to mentor and develop Associate DVM clinical skills, preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time-management and delegation abilities
  • Exercises sound judgment and demonstrates exemplary decision-making skills
