Maritime Logistics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Logistics Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Engineering and Test Group, you will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions to support our deployed forces.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize advanced analysis techniques and algorithms to support novel distribution and supply-chain network studies, and develop strategies to achieve operational availability.
- Design at-sea experiments and field tests, including overseeing Navy Platform participation and determining systems to be developed, integrated, and transported to Navy test sites.
- Work with APL procurements and subcontracting office to secure local supplies and vessel rentals as needed.
- Establish material procurement, staging, assembly, and test work flows to manage complex prototype assemblies.
- Lead logistics activities with internal and external teams, including both government and private industry partners.
- Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
- Have professional experience with Department of Defense (DoD) logistics and acquisition programs and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and possess strong interpersonal, speaking, and technical writing skills.
- Possess strong initiative, are self-motivated, and flexible; are interested in driving to creative solutions in all areas of infrastructure and logistics.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management.
- Have experience working with various military services to validate ILS requirements and implement logistics support plans to meet requirements.
- Have a Logistics or Program Management certification.
- Are familiar with reliability, maintainability, and logistics requirements as documented in DoDI , DoDD , and NAVINST 5000.2.
- Have the ability to read/interpret CAD/mechanical drawings.
- Have experience in risk assessment/risk management practices.
- Have experience as a project lead.
- Hold an active Top Secret level clearance.
