Position Overview:
The Aerial Construction Lineman is responsible for executing aerial construction tasks and coaxial splicing in compliance with NESC, NEC codes, and safety regulations, as well as Mediacom specifications and procedures, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to utility, federal, state, and local codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of general CATV construction practices.
  • Interpret system prints and comprehend CATV design and operations.
  • Construct strand, lash cables, set bonds, and install anchors and down guys.
  • Install and lash coaxial or fiber cables.
  • Handle self-supporting cables and inner ducts.
  • Drill utility poles and transfer existing attachments.
  • Ensure installation of all cables meets Mediacom specifications and relevant codes.
  • Utilize aerial lift trucks to position cables on poles according to design specifications.
  • Perform splicing on active plants and verify signal levels using appropriate equipment.
  • Conduct safety evaluations and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Safely manage tools, equipment, and assets.
  • Provide training to new team members.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Adapt to various weather conditions while performing duties.
  • Offer project insights to supervisors.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical examination.
  • Familiarity with construction tools and equipment such as bucket trucks and cable layers.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Capability to travel as necessary.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and colleagues.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent handling of heavy materials and tools.
