Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease section of the Division of Gastroenterology. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide advanced, high-quality care to individuals affected with chronic inflammatory GI disorders such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients. Conduct health histories and physical examinations, and convey findings to physicians.
- Patient Coordination: Coordinate patient care, order diagnostic tests, convey findings to physicians, attend inpatient rounds, and coordinate patient appointments and referrals to outside sources.
- Administrative Duties: Perform various nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards, and quality assurance.
- Liaison and Team Leadership: Act as a liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families, and health team members. Explain routines and procedures to patients and coordinate patient care information to appropriate sources.
- Normal Office Environment: Work in a normal office environment with occasional exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Physical Effort: Typically sit at a desk or table, stand or walk, bend, crouch, or stoop, and occasionally lift 25 pounds or less.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
- Certifications: Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act. Basic Life Support Certification or obtain within one month of employment.
- Clinical Experience: Experience in clinical research coordination, clinical research management, clinical research methods, and clinical research operations.
- Skills: Strong clinical skills, effective written and oral communication, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Competitive Salary: Salary range of $60,000 to $105,700 per year.
