Position Overview

The Order Selector plays a crucial role in preparing and organizing orders for customer delivery while ensuring the warehouse remains safe and orderly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare orders for shipment by selecting items, palletizing, wrapping, and staging them appropriately.
  • Keep the loading dock organized to facilitate safe and efficient loading processes.
  • Ensure product quality within the warehouse and promptly report any damaged items or equipment to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Adhere to organizational standards to maintain high-quality service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment throughout the shift by organizing shelves, pallet areas, and workstations; ensure the shipping supply area is tidy; and comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations.

Working Environment

  • Must be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 85 lbs.
  • Ability to work in cool or cold conditions typical of a food warehouse.
  • This position requires standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of experience in order picking is required.
  • Forklift certification is mandatory.
  • Experience with RF scanners is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively.
  • Must work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Capability to identify products by size, type, or product code.
  • Strong reading skills are necessary to match orders on shipping tickets with picked items.
  • Basic math and reasoning skills are essential.
