Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing unscheduled and miscellaneous maintenance to the University of Kentucky's facilities, as well as routine maintenance of building and electrical/mechanical support systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures and minor HVAC issues, including air handling units, reheat coils, thermostats, and valves.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical/architectural products, including locksets and door hardware, wastewater piping systems, and electrical motors.
  • Perform minor repairs to fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, medical gas systems, and automatic doors.
  • Assist with minor roofing problems, steam system issues, pump problems, and ice machine malfunctions.
Requirements
  • Experience with building and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred education/experience: HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience, driver's license.
