The research conducted in Dr. Ho's laboratory focuses on creating accurate models of late-onset diseases utilizing human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and in vivo animal models. This work aims to elucidate the interplay between genetic and environmental factors contributing to diseases in older adults and their relationship with intrinsic cellular aging mechanisms.


Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Center for Neural Science and Medicine (CNSM) within the Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and engage with fellow postdoctoral scholars, graduate and undergraduate students, and research associates.
- Participate in cutting-edge research initiatives, including data analysis and interpretation, and contribute to the preparation of grant proposals.
- Engage in authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications and presentations.
- Design and execute experiments, maintaining comprehensive experimental records and analyzing results in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
- Innovate and implement new research techniques and protocols as necessary.
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile research data.
- Conduct routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Observe interactions between MDs and research subjects relevant to ongoing research.

Qualifications:
- A Doctorate Degree (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in a field directly related to the area of research specialization is required.

Experience and Skills:
- A self-motivated individual capable of working independently on research projects designed by a mentor (typically the Principal Investigator) within their area of expertise.
- Possess comprehensive technical and theoretical knowledge of the research project and objectives during a post-doctoral appointment lasting one to five years.

- Demonstrate proficiency in executing experimental protocols and procedures, including meticulous data collection and analysis, as well as the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.

Knowledge of safety standards is essential, along with the technical capability to operate mechanical and medical devices.
