Position Overview:

The role of a Guest Service Clerk is essential in assisting our retail teams to provide outstanding service and satisfaction to our customers. If you are an enthusiastic, sociable individual who enjoys helping others and collaborating with a team, this position is ideal for you. Guest Service Clerks will warmly greet and welcome customers while ensuring our stores are well-stocked, tidy, and organized, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience. This position supports the Store Manager and fellow team members in delivering an exceptional customer service experience and fostering a work environment that embodies our Company values.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Welcome all customers with a friendly demeanor to ensure they feel valued and appreciated.
  2. Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of both the interior and exterior of the store. Ensure the coffee station is tidy and stocked; the food service preparation area is immaculate, the restrooms are kept clean, and litter is promptly cleared inside and outside the store.
  3. Monitor and restock products on the sales floor, including coolers, rotating inventory, and maintaining full product levels to meet customer demand and achieve the Company goal of 100% stock availability at all times.
  4. Oversee and replenish paper supplies as necessary in the food service area and restrooms.
  5. Assist in implementing Company processes and programs to ensure a consistent customer shopping experience.
  6. Prioritize safety within the store environment.
  7. This position does not involve processing sales transactions or operating the cash register.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager or shift leader.
  9. Must be capable of fulfilling the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodations.

Scheduling:

This is a part-time position requiring flexible hours, including days and nights, as Loaf 'N Jug locations may operate 24 hours depending on the store. Weekend and holiday availability is necessary. Double coverage scheduling will be implemented.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist throughout the shift. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Additional Information:

Specialized attire may be required by brand partners in food service establishments. Slip-resistant footwear is necessary. It is the responsibility of the team member to obtain any required work permits or similar documentation and provide it to their supervisor upon hire.

Work Restrictions:

Throughout the Year:
  • Restricted from using ovens and walk-in freezers (except in specific states if over 16).
  • Restricted from using ladders.
  • Copies of working papers must be onsite, and all terminated paperwork must be sent to HR (where applicable by individual State statutes).
  • Cannot work more than 6 days a week.
  • Must have more than 8 hours between the end of one shift and the beginning of the next.
  • Length of scheduled shifts should meet State minimum hour requirements.
  • May work up to 28 hours a week.
During the School Year:
  • May only work 4 hours per day and may not work during school hours (generally 7 am - 3 pm) and not past 10 pm.
Outside of the School Year (Summer and Breaks):
  • May work up to 6 hours per day.
  • Must receive a meal period for every 4 hours worked.
