Position Overview:
ROLE SUMMARY
At Great Dane, we are committed to fostering a culture of excellence and safety within our organization. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to support our Human Resources department through various administrative tasks and special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor employee attendance policies effectively.
- Facilitate the new hire process by reviewing applications and preparing them for evaluation.
- Distribute onboarding documentation and organize orientation sessions for temporary-to-permanent employees.
- Input new employee data into the HRIS system, ensuring compliance with I-9 documentation and E-verify processes.
- Address daily inquiries from hourly employees regarding changes in personal information, benefits enrollment, and attendance documentation.
- Prepare weekly attendance reports as required by corporate standards.
- Coordinate vacation schedules in accordance with pre-negotiated union agreements.
- Administer quarterly reports related to gainshare calculations following corporate guidelines.
- Oversee the employee-run events committee, organizing fundraising activities and monthly celebrations.
- Manage and file employee evaluation reports appropriately.
- Organize and maintain records for terminated employees.
- Assist in planning quarterly company-sponsored events, such as family days and holiday gatherings.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing.
- Perform clerical duties including mail distribution, phone call routing, and spreadsheet development for tracking purposes.
- Support open enrollment and benefits change paperwork as needed.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: A GED or high school diploma is mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in an administrative role or office environment is preferred, along with an associate degree.
- Skills:
- Proficient in data entry and familiar with office equipment.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to operate standard office machinery and demonstrate interpersonal skills.
- Capability to multitask and communicate effectively in English.
- Availability to work second shift is required.
- Travel: No travel is expected for this position.
