Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Relief Worker to join our team at Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. As a key member of our shipping area, you will be responsible for relieving workers during scheduled breaks and vacation periods, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Relieve workers in the shipping area during scheduled breaks and vacation periods, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate all necessary equipment to perform job duties, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare paperwork for the oncoming shift, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete all required documentation and schedule product checks, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, ensuring a secure work environment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all food safety and quality system requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous refrigerated warehouse and shipping experience, with a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Yard mule experience preferred, with a strong understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required, with a strong commitment to teamwork and flexibility.
  • Minimum age: 18, with a strong ability to pass a drug screen and physical.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • Forklift and/or pallet jack certification, as provided by the company, with a strong understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
Physical Demand/Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand/walk on your feet constantly during your shift, with a strong ability to maintain physical stamina and endurance.
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50, to 75 lbs, with a strong ability to maintain physical stamina and endurance.
  • Ability to constantly pull up to 270 lbs. with a pull rod while walking backward, with a strong ability to maintain physical stamina and endurance.
  • Ability to work outside and be exposed to the outside weather/temperature conditions, with a strong ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of your surroundings, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage stress.
  • Ability to work in both very hot (more than 100 degrees) and very cold (less than 20 degrees below zero) and in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time, with a strong ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push, and pull, and reach above and below the shoulder, with a strong ability to maintain physical stamina and endurance.
  • Ability to repetitively perform hand/wrist movements, with a strong ability to maintain physical stamina and endurance.
