The OpportunityWe are seeking a Full Time, 40-hour, Medical Assistant, EMT or Orthopedic Technician to join our fast-paced team in our newly established Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic. The operating hours of the walk-in clinic are Monday through Friday 8:00am-8:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am-1:00pm.
Responsibilities- Assist Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) with patient care to include cast/splint application and removal, instruction of all durable medical equipment, crutch training, patient education on casting and splinting as well as triaging patient concerns.
- Work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team.
- Float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant School/Program or have completed comparable training within discipline of EMT or equivalent military training.
- OR currently working as Medical Assistant with minimum of one year of experience.
- Six months experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- One to three years' experience in Orthopedics strongly preferred.
- Must obtain a national Medical Assistant certification within 1 year of employment.
- AHA or ARC BLS within 90 days of hire.
