About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Intermodal Freight Specialist to join our team at Forward Air. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and dispatching of customer freight, as well as owning the relationship with valued Independent Contractors. The ideal candidate will possess strong intermodal transportation experience, previous experience working with NJ/NY Ports, and knowledge of their appointment systems. A self-motivated problem-solver with a desire to meet customer needs, you will be able to provide exceptional support to drivers, respond to questions and troubleshooting concerns, and proactively monitor freight movement to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, scheduling, and dispatching of customer freight
  • Owning the relationship with valued Independent Contractors
  • Providing exceptional support to drivers
  • Responding to questions and troubleshooting concerns
  • Proactively monitoring freight movement to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Intermodal transportation experience strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working with NJ/NY Ports and knowledge of their appointment systems required
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with a desire to meet customer needs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
