Job Overview:The Wound Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in the management of patients with persistent wounds. This position involves the formulation, execution, and assessment of individualized wound care strategies. The coordinator collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to guarantee the highest standards of patient care and effective wound healing.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and oversee comprehensive wound care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Engage with healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient management.
- Maintain adherence to AIDET standards for patient communication.
- Contribute to the operational efficiency of the department in alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years focused on wound care.
- Experience in diverse wound care environments is preferred.
- Previous mentoring experience for wound care nurses is advantageous.
- Essential skills include critical thinking, service excellence, effective communication, organizational abilities, and proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to prioritize patient needs, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Licensure and Certifications:- Current RN license valid in the state of employment.
- CWCN certification is a plus.
- BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS certification is preferred from AHA.
