Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer Manager to join our team at Sacramento County CA. As a key member of our public works department, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and inspection of various civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of a team of engineers and technicians
  • Oversee the design and construction of public works projects, including new building construction and remodels
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations
  • Develop and manage budgets for projects and programs
  • Supervise and train staff, including engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel
Requirements
  • Current registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
  • Four years of full-time experience as a registered engineer performing duties comparable to those of a project, resident, or operations engineer for public works projects
  • Experience with budget preparation, personnel management, and supervision
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering, including methods and materials used in design, construction, and inspection
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
