About Us

Rio Grande Regional Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in the Rio Grande Valley, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Specialist in Acute Inpatient Tele. Our hospital has been serving the community for over 30 years, with a team of over 500 physicians representing 35+ specialties.

Job Summary

The Nurse Specialist will provide high-quality patient-centered care, coordinating and delivering care that meets the unique needs of each patient. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and throughout their stay, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by medical providers
  • Document administration of care in the patient's medical record in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 1 year of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date
  • Minimum 12 months experience in an acute care setting
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing
