Job Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for meeting all clinical, administrative, and financial performance metrics. This position is accountable for implementing, delivering, and ensuring the highest quality of patient-centered care.
- Delivers patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services
- Participates in the selection of suitable treatment plans for all patients
- Supervises staff to ensure the care team provides appropriate care in accordance with their duties and obligations
- Assists other care providers and extended care teams
- Provides continuous availability for medical and technical questions to employees, patient care staff, and ancillary care providers, including after-hours coverage
- Actively participates in quality improvement programs and multidisciplinary quality assurance programs
- Collaborates with the management team to ensure improvement of patient care
- Complies with all policies, procedures, and protocols
- Provides general medical care and treatment to patients in the health center under the direction of a physician (depending on state)
- Submits healthcare plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by a physician
- Provides after-hours coverage in rotation with other market clinicians
- Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment, such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
- May refer patients to a physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
- May provide occupational health services, such as post-offer physicals, occupational surveillance exams, medical monitoring, return-to-work exams, and Worker s Compensation medical guidance, in some health centers
- May need to perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, as necessary
- Delivers care at any clinic during scheduled work hours when necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
