We are currently in search of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a long-term maintenance role. This position involves the repair of automotive machinery, which encompasses trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment, and trailers. This is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Supervisor / Foreman, with assigned tasks following specific procedures and frequent oversight.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing equipment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • ASME certification preferred
  • Technical training and/or experience in industrial safety
  • Successful completion of post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation
  • Compliance with safety equipment requirements as mandated by the client (including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, safety harnesses with lanyards, etc.)
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
  • No per diem offered
  • 40 hours per week
Functional Requirements:

Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of automotive and heavy equipment, as well as undertaking additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Compensation

The final compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:

This role may require the following physical activities: climbing ladders and scaffolds, maintaining balance on elevated surfaces, reaching in various directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials, coordinating eye-hand movements to operate tools and equipment, lifting weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds, carrying tools and equipment, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, crouching, seeing with or without correction, hearing with or without correction, wearing respirators and other personal protective equipment, using stepstools, and working in varying temperature conditions and noise levels.
