Position Overview

In this role, you will conduct assessments and provide direct therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and independence. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment in delivering care.
- Execute treatment plans in accordance with established national and departmental standards.
- Ensure documentation is timely and accurately reflects medical necessity.
- Complete necessary paperwork for billing, including accurate charges and authorizations.
- Manage time effectively to meet departmental productivity benchmarks.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and complete required education for licensure and certification.
- Promote the occupational therapy profession within the organization and the broader community.
- Provide supervision in line with state, federal, and professional standards.
- Involve patients, families, and caregivers in treatment planning and discharge processes as appropriate.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements related to insurance and accreditation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Certification: Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in South Dakota
Preferred:
- Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Physical Requirements:
This position involves very heavy work, requiring the exertion of over 25 pounds of force constantly, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 100 pounds occasionally. There may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
Ability to work designated shift lengths, including 8 and 12-hour shifts, which may involve night shifts or irregular hours.
