Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to collaborate with the Production team in documenting job setups, extrusion methodologies, and daily operations related to various extrusion dies. This role will involve overseeing the maintenance of process documentation, formulating procedures, and drafting operational instructions. You will play a crucial part in enhancing and continuously improving the extrusion process capability and die validation procedures. Your responsibilities will include developing optimal nominal processes to achieve or exceed throughput targets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess and refine existing documentation for die setup and extrusion process parameters across multiple extrusion machines.
  • Develop and revise process procedures and operational instructions for a variety of tasks.
  • Work collaboratively to enhance process capability and die validation methodologies.
  • Create Production Die Cards for legacy extrusion dies.
  • Identify extrusion dies that can consistently operate reliable processes by partnering with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving the entire extrusion process up to secondary packaging.
  • Establish optimal processes while achieving high throughput rates.
  • Tackle quality and part challenges by examining plastic conditions and conducting root cause analyses for effective solutions.
  • Communicate process enhancements and issue resolutions to supervisors and management.
  • Execute assigned tasks as directed by management.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Comply with established safety protocols.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Verify that process parameters are accurate prior to startup and monitor operations to sustain validated parameters.
  • Support production in troubleshooting dies and resolving basic extrusion or packaging equipment challenges.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure uninterrupted equipment operation during breaks and emergencies.
  • Clean the extrusion area at the conclusion of the shift.
