The Department of Veterinary Biological Sciences at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (Clinical) position with a focus on clinical pathology. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of faculty members who are committed to providing high-quality education and research opportunities for students.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnostic Service (40%): Provide diagnostic clinical pathology services to the Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, with an emphasis on cytology and hematology diagnostic work.
- Teaching (20%): Contribute to the professional, graduate, and undergraduate curricula of the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine and the University, particularly in teaching pre-clinical Clinical Pathology and General Pathology.
- Scholarly Activity (35%): Pursue discovery in scholarly activity through collaborative research efforts, present new information at relevant meetings, and publish in peer-reviewed journals, books, and other media.
- University Service: Share in committee and other service activities of the College and the University.
- DVM or equivalent degree.
- Diplomate status or eligibility for taking the boards of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (Clinical Pathology) or the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists.
- Experience in diagnostic clinical pathology, teaching, and research.
- The ability to effectively communicate with diagnostic laboratory clientele, veterinary, graduate, and undergraduate students, pathology residents, staff, and colleagues.
- An advanced degree and/or additional professional certification in a related discipline.
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and creating an equitable and inclusive environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional and respectful conduct with all.
Participation in the weekend on-call duty rotation at OVDL is required.
