Responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Specialist:

  • Address all maintenance service requests, including general repairs such as drywall, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems, ensuring timely completion.
  • HVAC certification is mandatory
  • Be available for on-call duties as required, including non-traditional hours for special events and weekends.
  • Assist in preparing vacant units for rental by performing various repairs and accurately updating work order statuses.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, including faucet, toilet, and hot water tank replacements, as well as repairs to garbage disposals, dishwashers, and washing machines.
  • Conduct grounds maintenance, including litter collection, sweeping, pressure washing, and landscape upkeep.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations according to OSHA standards and company policies, reporting any discrepancies to the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent vocational training
  • Preferred experience of 1+ years in building and facility maintenance, including handyman work, home repairs, and renovation projects.
  • Desired licensing and certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing trades.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical operations and able to read and write in English at an intermediate level for interpreting diagrams and instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate harmoniously with staff, vendors, contractors, and residents.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Capable of handling confidential information responsibly.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and on-call, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Bring a positive attitude and high energy to contribute to a supportive team environment.
  • Utilize your maintenance expertise to assist both the maintenance team and the property itself.
  • Valid Driver's License, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
  • Background checks, credit checks, pre-employment drug screenings, and employment verification will be conducted.
